Deaf Access Services, an affiliate of People Inc. (DAS), is the only non-profit organization that works to bridge gaps between the D/deaf, hard of hearing and hearing communities throughout Western New York. That means that any revenue we receive for services is given back to the Deaf and hard of hearing community through our programs and services. We have been serving these communities for 39 years now.
The last few years have been particularly difficult for everyone due to the COVID-19 pandemic. DAS has been continuing to provide services remotely in order for our clients and the organizations we serve to still receive supports including: interpreting services, job placement, providing assistive devices, offering American Sign Language classes remotely, and developing new programs for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing individuals.
DAS traditionally hosts an annual fundraiser dinner to help raise money to support our programs and services, to celebrate our annual accomplishments, and to recognize the community and organizational partners who have made an impact. It is fun opportunity to come together as a community, however in the interest of keeping our community healthy we have decided to hold a virtual fundraising celebration for 2022 themed “DEAFinitely BBQ Season”!
