DAS 2017 Community Awardees
Community Impact Award - Amy Heider
The Community Impact Award is given to a Deaf community member who has taken action that improves the rights, contributions or talents of the Deaf Community.
Ally Award - Sharon L. Hanson
The Ally Award is given to an individual or organization, not typically in the Deaf Community, who has provided support that helps move forth the rights, contributions or talents of the Deaf Community.
Community Partner Award - Jewish Family Services
The Community Partner Award is given to a non-profit entity that offers services to and goes above and beyond, to assist local Deaf or Hard of Hearing Communities.
Language Access Award - People Inc.
The Language Access Award is given to a local business, non-profit, or other organization that provides interpreting services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing Communities, while ensuring access to health, education, employment, legal services or other critical services.
Nancy Seigel Award - Alice Guinane
The Nancy Seigel Award is given to a member of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing Community who has contributed significant support through volunteerism.
