Interpreter Fee Schedule
Effective January 1, 2010 - December 31, 2010
Deaf Adult Services (DAS) will maintain a roster of interpreters, along with their skill level, and assign them accordingly. DAS will be compensated for services rendered at the following rates:
Standard Rate:
$115.00 Minimum charge covering the first two hours of service
$55.00 Each additional hour, billed in ½ hour increments
Premium Rate:
$138.00 Minimum charge covering the first two hours of service
$66.00 Each additional hour, billed in ½ hour increments
The Premium Rate applies to jobs taking place from 11:00PM until 8:00AM, Monday through Friday, Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's. The Premium Rate will also apply to requests made with less than one full business day's notice.
Crisis Services:
$148.00 Minimum charge covering the first two hours of service
$71.00 Each additional hour, billed in ½ hour increments
C.A.R.T. Services:
$100.00 Per hour, a start up fee may be required depending on the nature of the request. You will be informed if this is necessary.
24-hour emergency sign language interpreter service is available. Professionals such as police, clergy, and doctors can call the Crisis Services Hot Line at 833-3131 to request an interpreter in the event of an emergency involving a deaf person.
There is a two-hour minimum charge for each request. Additional hours are billed at half-hour intervals. The full amount is charged if there is less than two full business days (48-hours) notice of cancellation. Only the first day will be charged in the event of cancellation of a multiple-day assignment. The full amount will be charged if the interpreter arrives to the assignment and either consumer does not. Requests lasting longer than 90 minutes often require more than one interpreter. DAS staff will inform you if this is necessary. When more than one interpreter is required, charges apply per interpreter. When an assignment requires two interpreters and only one interpreter completes the assignment, the service provided by the single interpreter will be billed the same as if two interpreters completed the assignment. For court assignments, if more than one interpreter is not available, and a single interpreter completes more than one case, charges apply per case. If travel time is necessary, this time will be billed as additional hours.
