Where Is My Interpreter?

Where Is My Interpreter?

Always contact Deaf Adult Services 5 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter.

Expand and take charge of your communication experience.

Make an Interpreting Request With One of the Following:

On-Lin
e Request:  Make your request here
Videophone:  866-922-6622
TTY: 716.833-5234
Voice: 716-833-1637

You should never be afraid to inform your interpreter of your needs. If they seem not clear or you do not understand them, let them know. Many interpreters can switch from ASL to PSE or SEE depending on your preference. It is important you inform your interpreter of a communication preference.

If an interpreter is late, misses an appointment or may seem inappropriate, contact the Manager at Jason@wnydas.org or our Communications Coordinator at Julie@wnydas.org.

Please take a moment to check with us before your scheduled visits. If we find out a request was not completed or made while you're experiencing difficulties obtaining interpreting service, we will make every effort to advocate on your behalf.   Sometimes, we are not able to fill a request because all of our interpreters are booked, or unavailable.

If this happens, we will contact the requestor and ask them to call or contact you to inform you that there is no interpreter available. They will ask you to reschedule to another date when an interpreter is available.

To Service, Organization and/or Business:  you should always confirm with DAS on all services provided.
